The latest beta has some improved support for using images in a presentation.
Documentation is not yet done, but here are a couple of tips, if you’d like to try it out now:

The presentation starter pack has two image name fields, with the second one being intended for use when the App Appearance is set to Dark. If you like, you can set both the image name fields to display the same image. However, if you don’t set the dark image name and you are using a Dark display, then no image will appear.

There’s a new field type available called
Image Layout. It’s not yet incorporated into the starter pack, but you can add it manualy to the collection template file. Right now, there are only two options: having the image run the width of the presentation, or confining it to the right half. If you have other suggestions, then I’d be interested in hearing them.
