Can't click on wikiLink

I can’t click on a wiki style link in the body of a note like [[MyNote]]

I hold down option or cmd and click on mouse but nothing happens. If I hold ctrl and click I get an option to open the link in a new window but that brings up safari and the message in the centre of the screen safari says “can’t find the server https://ntnk.app/mynote as it can’t find the server ntnk.app Am I doing something wrong?

Welcome to the Notenik Community! Glad to have you here!

You should be able to just click on the wikilink without holding down any modifier keys.

I assume you’re navigating within Notenik itself, and not from a generated web page of some kind…?

Yes within notenik and clicking the link without modifier keys does not work on both the display and edit pages.

Wiki links are not intended to work on the Edit tab, but they should certainly work on the Display tab.

Could it be that the target note does not exist? In other words, that the text between the double brackets does not match the title of another note in the same collection?

(BTW: While in Edit mode, hitting Ctrl-S is a quick way to invoke the Note Selector. From here, you can pick a note and select a Wiki Link to be created from it.)

Thanks. Yes the note does not exist. I thought that Notenik would create it for me if it did not exist? Thats the workflow that I am used to with other PKM apps. I just tried this on a note that exists and it does work.

There’s a Collection Setting that allows you to create new wiki link targets when they don’t exist. It defaults to off, I believe. Give that a try!

Thank you for your help. I see that now.

No problem! Thanks for giving Notenik a try, and for posting on the discussion forum!
