Creating a Portable Wisdom Feed

How I use the latest version of Notenik to generate an RSS feed of a series of randomly selected quotations from my Commonplace book — something I’m calling the Portable Wisdom feed.

That’s an interesting use case. I write a collection (German) of something a bit like Jenny Holzer’s Truisms, so your implementation gives me a gentle nudge to migrate my files into Notenik so I can enrich them there. Thanks!

Great! Let us know how it goes!

While the migration was pretty smooth using some regex to convert my files into “metadata’d files” etc., I’m not sure if I have Notenik correctly set up to handle this amount of files in this collection (currently 2117). Startup takes a few seconds, collapsing tags in the tags pane (which I don’t use) make Notenik unresponsive.

I sent you the .zip with the collection if you want to dig around. Hopefully it’s some PEBKAC problem, like “don’t use YAML for that” or so.

Busy today and tomorrow but will look into it later in the week.

No worries. Thank you for looking into it!

@benwf Check out the latest beta and let me know if this is any better.

Thanks!
