This new beta should address the following issues.
RTF parsing for the new “Paste Formatted to Markdown” command should be improved. Still not perfect, I’m sure: let me know if there are additional issues that you would like to see addressed here.
Improved handling of ampersands in Note Titles.
Streamlined Reading mode will now show Contents lists even if the list only includes one child.
Looking forward to hearing results from testing of these improvements! Thanks to all!
Well, first, I had made an erroneous assumption that, when pasting from a web page, you would end up with RTF. That turned out to only be true when pasting from a display of a note within Notenik. So if you’re pasting from a web page, you’re probably using the HTML to Markdown converter. I’ve been pasting from a Word doc in order to test the RTF converter. From the point of view of a Markdown conversion, typical RTF documents contain a lot of “noise,” so the main challange seemed to be separating the wheat from the chaff, so to speak. My first attempt at this turned out only to work under extremely special conditions. I think I have something more general working now. But at this point I’m more interested in pasting RTF from a variety of sources, and looking out for any kind of untoward results. Thanks for asking!
