This version should do a better job of highlighting the matching text in Search results.
This beta version is no longer available. Look for a later beta release or the most recent Mac App Store release.
I can confirm that matches are consistently highlighted throughout filtered search results and I’m looking forward to what you have planned for addressing links to non-matching notes.

I’m currently inclined to leave Notenik with the 19.5.3 behavior for now – that is, so that links from a found note to a non-found note don’t do anything.
There are a couple of reasons for this.

It’s not clear to me what a better behavior would be. There seem to be three options.
- Revert the list to its unfiltered state. This feels like it could easily be annoying, if the user was not ready to lose the found list they were reviewing.
- Add the referenced (link target) note to the found list. But I could picture this causing confusion for the user.
- Popping up some sort of dialog box that gives the user a choice of one of the above. This just seems needlessly fussy.

Trying to implement any of the above options could easily cause undesired side effects. (In other words, implementation might get a little tricky.) And I think I’d rather release a stable, reliable new version of Notenik without diving into any of these further complexities.

Sounds good to me. I think beyond a fair amount of ground has been covered in the last few days and as usual I appreciate your diligent effort and overall hospitality.
Maybe @jonathanbuys can offer his opinion on how to approach link behavior for filtered searches in the meantime.
