I’m here to formally endorse this package.
Knowledge workers, data hoarders, curators and shepherds alike may benefit from the following tweaks I made to my own version:
Source: <pickfrom: DEVONThink, GoodLinks, NetNewsWire, Pinboard, Web, Print, Research>
Medium: <pickfrom: PDF, ePub, Web, Print>
Disposition: <pickfrom: DT Dossier, DT Slipbox, Notebooks, Zotero, Citadel, Maktab, Shelved >
Flagged: <boolean>
Source
field keeps track of where a work was retrieved from.
Print
can refer to any physical work; personal books, academic journals, library books, recently purchased books, etc.Research
refers to digital media that was searched for (search engines, digital repositories, DEVONAgent queries, etc.) as opposed to Web
that is a catch-all for media found out and about.Disposition
field to track the destination of an entry from its source.Flagged
field is just to keep track of works of notice. This setup is meant to serve as a reading log that replaces a previous collection that lacked focus with respect to where a work came from, where it’s to be placed and what’s being done with it (Status
).
It may also serve as the designated lookup
collection for the Work Title
field in a Commonplace Book.
Excellent!! Thanks for posting!
I don’t know why, but up until your post, I completely missed pickfrom
– thanks for both your tweaks and the hint about this functionality!
