The ⌥-Left and ⌥-Right shortcuts to move forwards and backwards in the Index collide with the default Mac action that moves the cursor behind or in front of a word while editing text.
I was wondering if this could be disabled when the Edit window is active. I hope this is reasonable.
I think that’s a fine approach. Unless that risks interfering with someone who uses that pair to move the cursor to the beginning of a text line.
I’m not one of them and I wasn’t aware that it existed but I’m just disclosing it in case it’s something of interest to you or those who do use the shortcut.
If there’s room to propose other alternatives that don’t interfere with any default Mac shortcuts, then maybe Option + Command + Left/Right would be a solid compromise.
Overall I’m cool with whichever accommodation you think is the most appropriate.
Check out the latest beta. I ended up using Control Left Bracket and Control Right Bracket. If this causes any other problems, then please let me know. (I tried Control with the arrow keys, but this didn’t seem to work for me, for some reason.)
