Notenik 17.3.2 Available for Beta Testing on July 25th, 2025

This new beta builds on the multi-seq capabilities of 17.3.1. Hopefully it does everything that one did, plus has some upgraded outlining functions capable of reasonably handling Seq fields with multiple values (incrementing, indenting, modifying seq values for a range of notes, and so forth).

There were quite a number of internal coding changes to allow this stuff to happen, so it’s quite possible that some seemingly unrelated stuff might have been affected (although I certainly hope not!).

In any case, all beta testing efforts will be appreciated, and let me know if (when…?) you find some rough edges that might need further work.

Thanks!

This beta version is no longer available. Look for a later beta release or the most recent Mac App Store release.

It works quite well in my testing so far. In most cases, even with multiple sequence values, the first sequence value changes under outlining commands as one would expect it to (at least in the Outline tab view). Thanks a lot and sorry about all the extra work this led to!

I have a related suggestion, which I give hesitatingly, given all of the work you have already put in related to this feature: when I select a note in the Outline tab or in the List tab, when sorted by sequence, the App presumably knows the value of the sequence field that is used at that instance of the note. Would it be possible to have a context menu command that cyclically permutes the values of the sequence field so that the value of the sequence field that corresponds to the position of the note comes first? This would allow one to easily use all of the outlining commands with all of the sequence field values in two steps.

No worries! It’s a cool new feature, and I appreciate the suggestion! Let me see what I can do about incrementing, per your concern.

Actually, the intent is to increment the seq value associated with the selected row in the list.

But I can see it’s not working perfectly.

Let me work on this a bit more.

Thanks for the feedback!

See if the new beta works a little better.

Again, the intent is for the seq value associated with the selected row to be the one that is incremented.
