Hopefully this new beta will address most or all of the issues identified by users that surfaced in the last beta or two.
In other words, hopefully this addresses all of the outstanding issues around filtering.

This beta version is no longer available. Look for a later beta release or the most recent Mac App Store release.
Filtering works as expected for me.
The issue with Notenik becoming unresponsive when I try to edit the template survives a machine boot. I’ve taken a spindump, a process sample, and done a system diagnostic report which I can provide if you think they could be informative.
@Malcolm, if you could download the latest beta, try to text edit the template file, and then report back what you find in the Log window, that might help us get to the root of the problem here. Thanks.

Give the latest beta a go and let me know how that works for you.
But, also, a few additional questions.
The log says that it was trying to open the template at a url of file:///Users/malcolm/Library/Mobile%20Documents/iCloud~com~powersurgepub~notenik~shared/Documents/FileMaker/notes/template.md. Does this look right? Or is the URL somehow pointing to the wrong location?
Do you have this location set up with iCloud so that it only downloads files to your Mac as needed, or is it set up to keep all of your files stored locally on your Mac?
What app do you have set to open Markdown files?
I believe the answer to what is going on here will depend on your three answers to these questions.
When I use the Go to Folder command with that file path I see this, which is correct.
iCloud settings IS to optimise storage, i.e., download as needed.
MarkEdit is used for “.md” extension
@Malcolm My best guess is that this is a problem with one of the processes involved (Notenik, macOS, MarkEdit) getting hung up waiting for the template file to become available on your local disk.
I’d still like to know what happens when you attempt to text edit the template file using one of the two latest betas.
You may or may not get some additional error messages. But also, and mainly, you should not have to force quit Notenik.
Would be helpful to get confirmation of this.
